For a while, I've been thinking of this one. Samurai definitely exist in the Naruto world (As seen in the Zabuza Arc) and they definitely have skills of their own. I feel that more light should be shun upon this little aspect of Naruto in that manner. While I'm sure Shinobi are supposed to be prominent in the Naruto world, Samurai could introduce something different from the shinobi. From what I saw in the Zabuza arc, a skilled enough Samurai could take on a Shinobi. They wouldn't use things like Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, or Genjutsu, but Kenjutsu, Battoujutsu, and Iaijutsu. It wouldnt' solely be Sword-based, though. Staves, Spears, Bows, and even their own form of unarmed combat (since Taijutsu actually seems to refer to a Shinobi's hand-to-hand combat).
I wouldn't really shed too much light into this idea right now; after all, if it's rejected, it becomes nothing more than a waste of thought. If you guys do show interest, I could put together some details.

And thus, if Jutsus like these are exemplified as an exaggerated form of the Shinobi's power, then techniques of the samurai exaggerated in the same exponent should be excessive enough to at least rival that of the Shinobi in Naruto. After all, the Samurai hated Shinobi, and would very much so devise ways to defeat them effectively.
I'd definitely have much fun with that kind of differentiation.

samurai sucks.... imagine me binding a "samurai" person. what the hell can he do? all I need to do next is kubi shibaru, 0wn him with bunshins and tell him that he is weak and finish him off

True, Taijutsu refers to Hand-to-hand combat, but I guarantee you that there's a pretty big difference between the way a Samurai would fight and a Shinobi would fight. Shinobi choose to coexist with the shadows rather than actually fight, which is why Taijutsu is frowned upon in the Shinobi world. A samurai, though, would be more expansive in that field. Saying that alone would only make it another "Lee" clan style. Which is why shedding more energy into the weapon based field would be appropriate. Kenjutsu is, after all, a vital aspect in the history of the Samurai.

Wouldn't that same logic apply to a Shinobi? Pretty sure it would...

I'm pretty sure that's not purely shinobi-related. In fact, it's doubtful that Chakra is something shinobi are solely capable of using. Again the manner in which chakra is used is likely to differ greatly, however, I'm very much sure a Samurai could do the same.
the reason I have to make up poor argument cos your idea was a total failure, you might as well close this topic now cos all your doing is make useless comments. This is a naruto game, with what? 2 - 3 samurais in the fillers.
well as a commint on the chakra part as what i known read and learn samurais are my fav and as well they use ki and in the same statment their basicly the same only difrents between them is shinobi uses tools shadows and chakra while samurai uses skills with weapons inteligents and ki i dont see a huge difrence between i think this should be thought about,
and as well if i remember correctly shinobis or ninjas were made from samurai hence their ninja sword and style are basicly the same
Yea samurai would be pretty cool, they could have weapons for just there own class, possible weapons obtained when they level. there attacks could be close to lee but different names/effects I had this idea for the game a while back but didn't want to make a topic strictly for it...
"Shunpo" - Shadow step or flash step.. its like a fast movment that bursts the player 2-3 squares forward. it would be an exellent samurai move.
Also the category "Samurai" could possibly fall under the "Human" clan
Oh, wow. I forgot I was suggesting this. The suggestion is still up there, though. I still think that Samurai would be a very effective idea for this game, and should be an implement.
Kyuubi, Shunpo would be simply brilliant for the Samurai. I have many ideas that would be very effective for this game that would just as easily keep the Samurai unique as well.
Ok im actually undecided about the idea of introducing samurai into the game however-- you people say well shinobi can do this and shinobi can do that,they are still human and wouldnt learn the proper techniques without training,same with samurai,they still have to train and learn jutsus(mabey with different names and styles) just as the shinobi do. Shinobi is not a race but a proffesion,just as Samurai is not a race,they are both humans capable of doing the same things,just with different styles.
i totally agree i think adding a samarai aspect would put more depth into NC. maybe when making a new char u can have the decision to choose between Shinobi or Samarai then samarai has their own clans and family styles and such. i think this idea could really put NC once again that much farther apart from other naruto games on BYOND
I was skeptical at first about the idea this but as i read deeper into this i guess NC could get more players like this. I didn't know so many people liked Samurais, but hey im a shinobi for life.
